The film is about a 20 year old named Matt who lives in a dysfunctional family; father is an alcoholic and mother is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. One morning he experiences another argument and sees his mother get hurt. He runs out of the house, has a talk with his inner, dark self manifested in the character named Tom, who encourages him to end the struggle.
